Know What Is Healthy, What Needs Care and What Can Wait

Dental problems are easier to manage when they are found early. A check-up reviews your teeth, gums, bite, existing dental work and soft tissues, then turns the findings into a simple priority list. You leave knowing what is healthy, what needs treatment and when to return.

Scaling & Polishing

Remove Hardened Deposits and Refresh the Smile

Even good brushing cannot remove hardened calculus. Scaling clears deposits around the teeth and gumline; polishing smooths away many surface stains and leaves the mouth feeling fresh. We adjust the technique for sensitive teeth and tell you if deeper gum treatment is needed instead.

Tooth-Coloured Fillings

Repair Decay with a Natural-Looking, Bonded Restoration

A cavity or small fracture can grow if it is left unsealed. Tooth-coloured composite removes the damaged area, bonds to the remaining tooth and restores a natural contour in one focused visit. We use a crown or onlay only when the remaining tooth needs more protection than a filling can provide.

4 CHECKS
Seal, contact, contour and bite
  • Repairs decay or a small fracture before more tooth is lost.
  • Blends with the surrounding tooth using shade-matched resin.
  • Bonds to tooth structure for a conservative preparation.
  • Restores contact and contour so cleaning feels natural.
  • Can be repaired if a small area chips or wears.

Dental X-rays & 3D CBCT Imaging

See What a Visual Examination Cannot Show

Pain, impacted teeth and implant sites often involve structures hidden beneath the surface. Digital X-rays provide focused 2D views; CBCT adds 3D detail when a complex question needs it. We select the smallest useful image and explain how it changes the diagnosis or plan.

  • Reveals decay, roots, bone and impacted teeth hidden from direct view.
  • Supports implant, endodontic, surgical and orthodontic planning.
  • Creates digital records that can be compared over time.
  • Uses a focused field and exposure selected for the clinical question.
  • Makes complex anatomy easier to explain before treatment.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions our patients ask most before their implant consultation.

The right interval depends on your decay risk, gum health, medical history, previous treatment and symptoms. Some people benefit from shorter reviews; others need them less often. After your first assessment, we recommend a recall schedule based on your current risk rather than a fixed rule.

No. Scaling and polishing remove plaque, calculus and many surface stains; they do not bleach the natural tooth colour. Whitening uses a different gel to lighten suitable stains within the tooth. Cleaning is often the sensible first step when deposits are affecting appearance.

Composite resin is selected and layered to blend with the tooth. The final appearance depends on the size and location of the cavity, remaining tooth structure, moisture control and shade. Very large defects may be stronger with an onlay or crown.

Dental imaging uses focused techniques and is prescribed only when the expected diagnostic benefit justifies it. The type and frequency depend on symptoms, age, disease risk and previous images. CBCT is not a routine scan; it is reserved for problems that need 3D information.

Avoid biting hard on the area, keep it clean and arrange an assessment promptly. Seek urgent help for swelling, severe or increasing pain, trauma, fever or sharp edges that injure the mouth. A temporary repair may be used until the definitive solution is clear.

Often, yes. If the examination shows healthy or mildly inflamed gums, cleaning may follow in the same appointment. Deep gum pockets, acute pain or extensive treatment needs can require a separate visit and a more focused plan.
