Protect the Foundation of Every
Tooth and Implant

Bleeding gums, bad breath and gum recession are not problems to ignore. We measure the health of the gums and supporting bone, remove the causes of inflammation and build a maintenance plan that protects teeth, implants and future dental work.

Gum Disease Treatment

Control Inflammation Before Teeth Lose More Support

Bleeding, swelling and bad breath can be early warnings; deeper disease can quietly damage the bone that holds teeth. Gum disease treatment identifies active sites, removes bacterial deposits and tackles risk factors. The goal is stable, cleanable gums and a maintenance routine that prevents relapse.

2 PHASES
Active care then maintenance
8-12 WEEKS
Common reassessment window
3-4 MONTHS
Typical maintenance range
  • Reduces bleeding, swelling and bacterial deposits.
  • Targets pockets that threaten tooth and implant support.
  • Connects gum health with smoking, diabetes and home cleaning.
  • Measures response before surgery is considered.
  • Creates an ongoing maintenance plan around disease risk.
Patient Results

Before & After

Real results from patients who underwent a Gum Disease Treatment at our clinic.

Before After

Treatment Process
1
Measure the disease

We chart pockets, bleeding, recession, mobility, plaque and bone levels around teeth and implants.

2
Control daily causes

Home-cleaning techniques and risk factors are addressed so professional treatment has a stable foundation.

3
Clean affected surfaces

Scaling and root planing removes deposits above and below the gumline, with local anaesthetic as needed.

4
Reassess healing

Pockets and bleeding are re-measured to identify stable sites and areas that need further care.

5
Maintain the result

Supportive visits remove new deposits, reinforce home care and act early on recurrence.

Clean Beneath Deep Gum Pockets Where Brushing Cannot Reach
Scaling & Root Planing (Deep Cleaning)

Clean Beneath Deep Gum Pockets Where Brushing Cannot Reach

When gum pockets deepen, routine cleaning cannot reach the deposits attached to the roots. Scaling and root planing cleans these surfaces below the gumline, usually with local anaesthetic for comfort. After healing, we re-measure the pockets before deciding whether maintenance or additional treatment is needed.

1-2 VISITS
Common active-care range
4-8 WEEKS
Typical early reassessment
3-4 MONTHS
Common maintenance interval
  • Removes calculus and bacterial deposits from deep root surfaces.
  • Reduces inflammation so gum tissue can become firmer and cleaner.
  • Improves access for daily brushing and interdental cleaning.
  • Creates measurable pocket and bleeding changes for reassessment.
  • May stabilise many sites without surgical treatment.

Before & After

Real results from patients who chose Scaling & Root Planing (Deep Cleaning) at our clinic.

Before After

Treatment Process
1
Chart the pockets

We measure disease extent and review imaging, sensitivity, health and risk factors.

2
Plan comfort and areas

Local anaesthetic and visit sequence are arranged by quadrant and depth.

3
Scale below the gumline

Ultrasonic and hand instruments remove deposits from tooth and root surfaces.

4
Support early healing

You receive cleaning, sensitivity and symptom guidance for the treated areas.

5
Re-measure and decide

At reassessment, stable sites enter maintenance and persistent deep sites are reviewed for further treatment.

Rebuild or Reshape Gum Tissue for Protection and Balance
Periodontal Plastic Surgery

Rebuild or Reshape Gum Tissue for Protection and Balance

Receding or uneven gums can expose sensitive roots, make cleaning difficult or affect a planned restoration. Periodontal plastic surgery uses carefully selected grafting or contouring techniques to improve tissue thickness, coverage or shape. The plan focuses on health and cleanability as well as appearance.

Typical procedure range

Initial gum healing
3-6 MONTHS
Tissue maturation range
  • Covers selected exposed roots or thickens vulnerable gum tissue.
  • Can reduce sensitivity linked to recession.
  • Creates a more stable tissue frame around teeth or implants.
  • Reshapes excess or uneven gum when clinically appropriate.
  • Supports restorative treatment by improving access or tissue position.

Before & After

Real results from patients who chose Periodontal Plastic Surgery at our clinic.

Before After

Treatment Process
1
Diagnose the tissue problem

We measure recession, tissue thickness, bone, tooth position, sensitivity and cleaning technique.

2
Select the procedure

Graft source, flap design or contouring is matched to protection, coverage or restorative needs.

3
Prepare and place tissue

Under local anaesthetic, the site is treated with microsurgical instruments and stabilised with fine sutures.

4
Protect early healing

Diet, brushing and activity instructions reduce movement and trauma while the tissue attaches.

5
Review maturation

Sutures, comfort, cleaning and tissue shape are reviewed as the result settles over several months.

Laser Dentistry

Use Focused Light for Selected Gum and Soft-Tissue Procedures

A dental laser can treat selected gum and soft-tissue problems with focused energy and precise control. It may support contouring, frenectomy, decontamination or other procedures, but it is not automatically better for every case. We use it only when the laser adds a clear clinical advantage.

1 FOCUSED TOOL
Selected by procedure
1+ VISITS
Depends on treatment area
2-4 WEEKS
Common early review range
  • Provides precise soft-tissue cutting or contouring in selected sites.
  • Can support bleeding control during appropriate procedures.
  • Offers an additional decontamination tool when clinically justified.
  • May reduce the need for sutures in some soft-tissue treatments.
  • Is integrated with diagnosis, cleaning and maintenance rather than used alone.

Before After

Treatment Process
1
Confirm the diagnosis

We identify the tissue problem and compare laser treatment with conventional alternatives.

2
Explain the laser's role

You learn what the laser will do, what it will not do and the expected aftercare.

3
Protect and anaesthetise

Appropriate eye protection and local anaesthetic are used according to the procedure.

4
Treat the selected tissue

Laser settings are matched to the tissue and clinical objective with controlled, focused application.

5
Review healing

We check comfort, tissue response and plaque control and continue any periodontal maintenance required.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions our patients ask most before their implant consultation.

Bleeding commonly signals inflammation from plaque, but brushing trauma, medicines, pregnancy, systemic conditions and other factors may contribute. Persistent bleeding deserves assessment. Healthy gums should not routinely bleed with gentle, effective cleaning.

Gingivitis can often be reversed when plaque and deposits are controlled. Periodontitis causes support loss that usually requires ongoing management rather than a one-time cure. Treatment aims to control inflammation, stabilise pockets and preserve teeth, followed by maintenance matched to risk.

Yes. Routine scaling removes deposits around accessible tooth surfaces and the gumline. Scaling and root planing treats root surfaces beneath deeper periodontal pockets and may be completed by quadrant with local anaesthetic. The gums are re-measured after healing.

Lost gum does not simply regrow after cleaning. A graft or other plastic-surgery technique may cover selected exposed roots or thicken tissue, but complete coverage is not always possible. Tooth position, bone, papillae, smoking and cleaning habits affect the result.

Lasers can be useful for selected soft-tissue procedures and as an adjunct in periodontal care. Evidence does not support presenting a laser as automatically superior to careful scaling and root planing. We explain the specific purpose, alternative and expected benefit before using it.

Many patients with a history of periodontitis benefit from shorter intervals, often around three to four months, but the schedule is individual. Pocket depth, bleeding, plaque control, smoking, diabetes, implants and previous disease activity guide the recall plan.
